Help your Child at Home

Home Learning

From Tuesday 20th September, pupils will be set homework. The homework is designed to be purposeful and complement what has been taught in class. Many educational research papers advocate the repetition of basic skills to embed skills and knowledge into long term memory. Homework expectations will be as follows:

All reading must be logged in your child’s Reading Record book and signed by a parent or carer; these will be checked weekly by the class teachers. All pupils will be issued with their login details for Mathletics, which will be stuck inside their Reading Record book. Should any pupils not complete the required number of tasks, following a reminder, they will be asked to do so at a break or lunchtime. The work will be set on a Friday, to be completed by the following Wednesday for checking. Over time, we aim to increase the number and range of tasks that pupils complete.
