Charitable Causes We Support at Westcott
Westcott Church of England School, established upon Christian foundations, and living out the Christian faith, is committed to providing every child with an excellent education
Mission Statement: Learning in faith and growing into all God wants us to be.
At Westcott, we firmly believe that supporting charitable causes plays an extremely important part in our school life. It helps our school community appreciate what we have, and how lucky we are to have a well-resourced school.
Supporting different charities is part of Westcott’s history and has gone on for many years. The parents, pupils and staff annually support fund raising events to show how much we care as a school as well as extending the hand of friendship to those less fortunate than ourselves.
In 2014–2015 each month we have had “Food Bank Friday” where we have collected gifts of food for the Vineyard Church in Aylesbury to support their food bank.
The School Council have chosen the Peace and Hope Trust as their charity for 2014–2015.
Annually we also support The Children’s Society through our Christingle Service collection [It was the School Council’s main charity for 2013-2014.]
Nationally we support Children in Need and Sport Relief
Internationally our charity is Comic Relief through Red Nose Day.
Often we come into school dressed in our own clothes, sometimes we bake or sell our garden produce to raise money for our charities
